Collection and Use of Information

PayPLUS wants to be clear about what information it collects and how the information is used for purposes such as delivering PayPLUS Services to you, operating our business, and making our PayPLUS Services work better for you.

PayPLUS relies upon a variety of information to run our business. In connection with our PayPLUS Services, we may collect and use your Personal Information. Personal information is information about you that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address, email address, username, password, or phone, and that is not publicly available. PayPLUS may also obtain non-personally identifiable information through the use of General Web Tracking Information and Click Path Tracking (cookie technology), such as Google Analytics, described below.

Collection of Personal Information related to the PayPLUS Services

We may collect and use your Personal Information for the purposes of:

  • Communicating with you regarding PayPLUS Services, and improving them over time
  • Registering your account
  • Providing you with PayPLUS Services as a client, in accordance with your agreement
  • Providing you with access to use PayPLUS Services, in accordance with a client agreement
  • Providing you with customer service and technical support

We may also get information from other businesses or people when a third-party is linked to your account, (e.g. linked bank accounts) or when we use a service provider to help us verify the accuracy of our data, in order to provide better service, (e.g. verifying tax information). Generally, the accuracy of our data is dependent upon the accuracy of the data you supply to us.

General Web Tracking Information

We may keep track of the pages visited by each user. Our web server automatically collects some information about you when you request pages from our server, including your IP address. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers connected to the Internet to identify your computer so that data (such as the web pages you request) can be sent to you. We may aggregate this data with data on the pages visited by other users to track overall visitor traffic patterns and improve our PayPLUS website by making it more responsive to the needs and preferences of our users. This information does not identify you personally.

Click Path Tracking

Technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags and scripts may be used by our analytics, information technology and web monitoring service providers. These technologies may be used in analyzing trends, administering the PayPLUS website, tracking users' movements around the PayPLUS website and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.

As is true of most websites, our PayPLUS website gathers certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. Mobile applications may also use cookies. We may combine this automatically collected log information with other information we collect about you. We do this to help improve the services we offer you and help improve marketing, analytics, or functionality of PayPLUS Services.

Sharing of Information

We will share your Personal Information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy. We currently do not provide or sell any Personal Information to marketing research or bulk advertising sales companies or to any other third parties.

Third-Party Services

We may disclose your Personal Information or non-personally identifiable information with third-parties who provide services to assist us with the provision of PayPLUS Services, such as website design, website hosting, data storage, data authentication, and security, sending communications related to PayPLUS Services, or performing analytics. Our contracts with these third parties restrict their collection and use of information to what is needed under our agreement, and they are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

Where your PayPLUS Services account links to third-party services, such as financial accounts, we must access your online account with such financial institution. In such case, you consent to our exchange of information with such parties, including Personal Information, as necessary for the operation of our business and provide our services, such as direct deposit or automated clearinghouse funds transfers. We will request only such data as is necessary to enable such access.

Legal Requests

We reserve the right to disclose your Personal Information to law-enforcement personnel and agencies when requested to do so or as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or wage garnishments and child support payments.

Entity Changes

We reserve the right to disclose your Personal Information, as required, if PayPLUS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets.

Protection of Rights

We may also disclose Personal Information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this Personal Information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may have breached our terms of use or who may be causing (whether intentionally or unintentionally) injury to or interference with our rights or property, other website users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.

Access and Choice

You may utilize the ESS PayPLUS website page to view and request updates to your Personal Information. You have a choice regarding our use of your information to contact you for marketing purposes. If we were to send you such communications, you have the right to contact us and request not to receive such communications. However, you will continue to receive communications necessary to provide you with your PayPLUS Services.

Links to Third Party Websites

We may include on our PayPLUS website a hyperlink ("Link") to external pages, such as our social media pages ("External Pages"). PayPLUS provides these Links to you as a convenient method of accessing information that may be useful or of interest to you. This Privacy Policy and the practices that we follow under this Privacy Policy do not apply to External Pages.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or opinions expressed by any third-party on any External Pages site or for the privacy practices of the External Pages or any third party. We will not, and are under no obligation to, investigate, monitor or check External Pages for accuracy or completeness, or for any obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, indecent, profane, defamatory or unlawful content or materials. Inclusion of any link to External Pages that is placed on our PayPLUS website does not imply approval or endorsement of the External Pages. You understand and agree that by clicking on a link to External Pages you have left the PayPLUS website, and this PayPLUS website and this Privacy Policy is no longer in effect.

Storage of Information

PayPLUS may collect, use, and share your information, as provided above, for as long as needed to provide you with PayPLUS Services, while your account is active or your employer retains your personnel information, as needed to operate our business, or as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Security of Information

To reduce the possibility of unauthorized access or disclosure, PayPLUS, or its third-party service providers, have put in place a number of physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to help protect the information PayPLUS collects on the PayPLUS website and in provision of PayPLUS Services. For example, an authorized username and password information is required to access certain client data. In addition, we use standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to secure all pages used for inputting users' Personal Information. However, due to the open communication nature of the Internet, no system can be completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of any Personal Information disclosed on the PayPLUS website.

California Do Not Track Disclosure

Do Not Track is a web browser privacy preference that causes the web browser to broadcast a signal to websites requesting the user's activity that such activity will not be tracked. The PayPLUS website does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

If you are visiting the PayPLUS website from outside of the United States of America, please do not submit any Personal Information. If you submit Personal Information, you agree that our collection, use and disclosure of such Personal Information will be governed by this Privacy Policy and you consent to the transfer and processing of your Personal Information in the United States of America.
